Time in the Hospital

So, Carolyn woke up Sunday morning with an upset stomach. It wasn't too bad, but got progressively worse throughout the day. By about 2:00 in the afternoon she started throwing up. By about 6:00 p.m. she decided we needed to go to the hospital.

We checked into the ER and they ran a pretty thorough series of tests. They even had to run her though the CAT Scan. About 11:00, they made the decision that it was probably appendicitis and decided to admit her. They kept her overnight to be sure and to pump her full of some pre-surgery antibiotics and fluids to make the surgery easier. This morning at about 9:00 a.m. they wheeled her into surgery. She was done by 9:30 a.m. It was a routine laparoscopic surgery and was confirmed to be appendicitis. There weren't any complications.

She's doing well. She even had lunch today. She is in a bit of pain. The staff here is trying to decide if she can go home late tonight or if they are going to keep her another night. We will know about 9:00 p.m.
